You have to practice habits and behaviors that will simplify your life. What are those habits?

One of the best habits you can learn is to develop the habit of saying “no” to people.

Particularly saying “no” to any demand on your time, mainly those that are not congruent with what you truly want most out of life.

Many have taught on this including Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend in their work Boundaries, and Brian Tracy in Focal Point, even the late Steve Jobs told you to say “no” to more than just drugs.

Say no to great opportunities that have little to nothing to do with your goals.

This habit is powerful, and can be hard to initially administer. To begin with, just politely say “no” to any demand or request that is not a high-value use of your time towards your major goal.

We all need it and deserve it. We need a moment of rest. If we’re working people or not, our waking hours are full of our brain working on stuff and processing.

This is why we must turn off and recharge to renew our energy. The Creator knew exactly what He was doing when He created a day of rest for His creation to keep.

It is a day to get a moment of rest, a rebooting, a refocusing, a recharging. So I tell you to rest here, for a minute. It is definitely okay! Catch your breath and get back in the game.

It is typical of not just American culture, but modern culture to want to supersize everything, add more to everything, get the biggest plate to every meal.

In a me first society, especially one that struggles to lose weight, stay healthy, manage money, and on and on, one simple suggestion to change it all is contentment. 

I won’t have fries with that

In other words, get smaller portions. “I won’t have fries with that, in fact I will only have half of that!” This needs to be the new response (especially if you’re still eating routinely in such establishments).

Seth Godin said in his blogpost, sometimes we’d do better if we just got a smaller bowl. It is a simple hack that really works, but who wants anything with the letter W-O-R-K in it? New answer… WE DO!
